ALT Tag
The ALT
tag defines the text
to display for a graphic if the user has graphics turned off,
or if they put the cursor over it in MS Explorer. Some search
engines will look for keywords in the ALT tags.

Use the <Images Alt="

Your company logo may express what you are, who you are, and
even express a benefit, but the search engines can not index
your image. The search engine is unaware of anything but text.
The sole indexable aspect of images is the textual subject matter
you place within the <image alt="put
text here"> tag.
As a matter of fact, if your image appears higher on your web
page (when looked at from a linearized html code perspective)
than your keyword text, then your page is at a disadvantage.
This is a typical error. If achievable, avoid positioning images
higher on your web page than keyword text. You can turn all
images into assets by placing keyword text within the Alt tags.
Realistically, you shouldn't anticipate a great ranking boost
from this strategy; in reality you may get none. Nevertheless,
search engines have been known to index the content of Alt tags
in the past and one never knows when the ranking algorithm will
shift back again as it does now and then.
Additional reasons for using the alt tag are:
the content becomes visible when a mouse
passes over the image,
the content appears whenever the image fails
to load,
and the latest HTML specs require that images
have an Alt tag.
